1. What are the requirements to become a licensed Florida real estate sales associate?

You must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), complete and pass a state approved 63-hour RE course, pass the state exam with a score of 75% or higher.

2. How & where can I submit my application?

The application can be submitted before, during or after the course. To submit your application online you should visit the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) website. Schedule an appointment for electronic fingerprinting with Promissor.

3. What are the fees involved for licensing, fingerprinting & exam?

The state application fee for RE Sales Associate is $105.00 and for Re Broker is $115.00. The Promissor fingerprinting fee is $61.00 and the Promissor exam fee is $31.50.

4. When will I be notified of my test results?

Students will be advised of their test results immediately at the test center.

5. How long is a license good for and are there continuing education requirement?

RE sales associate licenses are renewed every two years. during the first renewal period, licensee's must complete a 45-hour post-license course and pass an "end-of-course exam". after the first renewal period, licensee's must complete 14-hours of continuing education each renewal period.

6. Do I have to take a course if I possess an out of state license?

7. Do you have a money back guarantee if I don't pass the state exam or the end of course exam?

NO, it is not allowed by FS-475 and Chapter 61j of the Florida Real Estate Commission.

8. What are the requirements for obtaining a real estate broker's license?

You must possess an active RE sales associate's license for at least 12-months within the previous 5-years. Complete and pass the 45-hour post licensing course. Complete 72- hours of classroom instruction and pass the end of course exam. Take and pass the state exam.

9. What is the renewal period? Are there CEU requirements?

Licenses must be renewed every two years. 60-hours of post-licensing education is required during the first renewal period. subsequently, you need to complete 14-hours of continuing education.

10. Where and how do I submit my application to the state?

Your application can be submitted before, during or after you take the course. Submit your application online by visiting the Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR) website. Schedule an appointment for electronic fingerprinting with Promissor. If you prefer to do it by mail, you should download and print the application from the DBPR web-site. It will take approximately 6-8 weeks for the state to process & approve your application. Once approved, contact Promissor and schedule your exam by calling 1 (888) 204-6289.
